EPT London sold out, promises big money

For the first time, PokerStars is anteing up to create a guaranteed £1 million first-place prize. In addition to the mad loot on the line in the Main Event, the London EPT will also include a £1 million high rollers event. “With the promise of £1,000,000 for first place and a special High Rollers event as well, London EPT is set to be one of the best EPT events of all time,” says a PokerStars representative.

Kahnawake Gaming sanctions UB, points finger at Hamilton

In a statement released yesterday, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission laid the lion’s share of the blame for the recent cheating scandal at Ultimate Bet at the feet of Russ Hamilton, an individual often referred to as one of the original owners of UB (or one of the several associated companies), but who the KGC report describes as an “individual associated with Ultimate Bet’s affiliate program.” KGC ruled that UB has to, among other things, refund all players who were cheated, submit to heavy oversight, and pay a fine of 1.5 million. North Hollywood’s Eyal Revah exits tenth event with $17,930 If the Borgata is this month’s capitol of east coast poker, Commerce rules the west, as the California State Poker Championship, which began on September 2 and runs through September 21 with 18 events all told, got off in grand style when John Andrus powered through 494 opponents to take the $200 buy-in no-limit hold ‘em opening event. Buy-ins for the California State Poker Championship series are popularly priced, with the majority of events costing either $225 or $335 to enter. There are a few $545 buy-in events scheduled, and the main event is priced at $1,580-a bargain by main event standards.
