Mel Judah picks up Aussie win

Mel Judah, a former Aussie resident, picked up a win this week in Event 3 of the tournament series, an Omaha Hi-Lo event. According to the Aussie Millions Web site, the $1,100 Omaha Hi-Lo event is one of the smaller tournaments, but because it is one of the more specialized, it brings out many familiar pro faces.



Hollywood Poker releases calendar

The models chosen for this year’s calendar include Gelusa Zaripova, Emily Marie, Tracy Nova, Laura Leigh, Melissa Jo Berry, Mellie Zadeh, Kelli Lam, Claudia Verela, Hillary Fisher, Noelle Joy, Cathleen Lee and Jennifer Korbin. “All I’ve got to say is with beauties like ours in the 2009 Hollywood Poker Girls Calendar, who wouldn’t want to have all 12 delivered right to their doorstep!” said Vince Van Patten, Hollywood Poker spokesperson. Not only are the women featured in the 2009 calendar, they will also be featured on the Hollywood Poker site, where there will be a dedicated section for fans to check them out

Some days you shouldn’t play poker. Last Friday I stopped at my local cardroom for some poker and lunch. I quickly got a seat in a $200 buy-in, $3-$5 blinds, no-limit game.



American John Juanda Wins WSOP-Europe in 19-Hour Marathon Final Table

Clocking in at a seemingly infinite 19 hours and 10 minutes, John Juanda’s victory at the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event was the longest final table in the 39-year history of the World Series of Poker. Measured in time from start to finish, the duration of this ‘final nine’ shattered by three hours and ten minutes the mind-numbing 16-hours played in the $1,500 buy-in Razz championship, won by O’Neil Longson in 2005. This final table lasted 484 hands, obliterating the previous record set during the legendary duel between the late Chip Reese and Andy Bloch, which occurred in the 2006 $50,000 buy-in HORSE championship, which lasted 354 hands
